Now i've been really thinking about all the drama that's recently been surrounding the Pussycat Dolls. With acts like Danity Kane & Cherish falling apart, and no European girl-groups being able to make the cross into the U.S Marking (Did you hear the sugababes got signed to Roc-a-fella Records??), PCD have been the only girl-group to remain relevant and keep it together. Until now...
Their structure as a group has always bothered alot of people. The fact that Nicole sings everything even though all 5 members of the group are fully capable of carrying a note, escpecially powerhouse vocalist Melody. The fact that not only has Nicole been hanging a Solo Career over the group since jump, but that she now gets her own features on PCD songs, and for the most part now even does her OWN backgrounds and harmonies.
I dont know about anyone else, but i also think its funny that PCD creator Robin Antin has already gone and created not 1, but 2 other groups that she's pushing right now almost as if preparing for the fall of the Pussycat Dolls.
I don't know exactly where any of its going, but PCD is on life support right now in a major way. Despite all of Nicole's talent and potential, people don't really seem to like her much alone, not to mention everyone and their mother is checking for Melody real hard right now, and i feel like she could be the one to really watch as all of this unfolds.
What are your thoughts???
